American Association of Neurological Surgeons
About
The purpose of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, UNC Medical Student Chapter, is to:
1. Provide a means of exposure to neurosurgery and related fields to medical students at the UNC School of Medicine through organized lectures and presentations by professionals in said fields.
2. Organize physician shadowing opportunities within the UNC Neurosurgery Department.
3. Provide opportunities for medical students to present topics or original research related to neurosurgery and neuroscience during meetings.
4. Organize educational community outreach events related to neuroscience and neurosurgery aimed towards elementary, middle and high school students.
5. Disseminate information regarding potential research opportunities (i.e. projects for medical students, poster presentation opportunities, and relevant conferences) to members.
Due to the nature and limited space of our events, we are unable to accomodate students outside of the School of Medicine.
